Helium Console migration is getting started

Earlier last year , helium community take the decision to move out from the helium legacy console (hosted on helium-iot.eu) for getting benefit of more mature and advanced opensource LoRaWan Network Servers (LNS) also named openLNS in the community.

Chirpstack is the favorite openLNS, heyIoT, decided to support. This is providing to helium user new features like support of Class B & C devices, support of ABP and a better long term support for the new LoRaWan features like repeaters and much more.

Since 2023 August 16th, the Chirpstack environment is open for registration and device migration. It already run 30000+ production devices and wait for your devices. Documentation and tutorial are available. The Helium Legacy console will still be available up to Dec 2024, but it will be decommissioned after this date. The following legacy console sunset phase are engaged: starting August 2024 the 1st, price will increase to $8 for 100k communication credits, from January 2025 the 1st purchasing new communication credits increased to $30 for 100k. End of January new purchase will be impossible and after Feb 2025 the 28th, environement will be halted ; device communication will be stopped.

  • New user on HeyIoT, may directly register to the OpenLNS console.
  • Legacy console user, please shorty consider migration to Chirpstack, immediatly start investigating openLNS by registering to it. Migration is not one-shot, you can declare new devices in openLNS, migrate a couple and later migrate all. Our team can help you during your migration steps, you can contact us from the top right menu in the Chirpstack environement.

openLNS migration support is accessible through the HeyIoT.xyz contact form and through the Service Request menu in openLNS. Once your migration is completed, you can also contact us for getting a DC tranfer between your legacy account and your openLNS account.
